Bridgnorth MTB are Andy, Dave, Rich and Will

Welcome to Bridgnorth MTB Website and Resources

Who are we

Originally starting in 2001 the original quartet were Alan, Dave, Rich and Will. Aim was to get some fresh air and get a bit of fitness on mountain bikes using the lanes of Bridgnorth and the old railway track running to Ironbridge (before it was a Bridleway) to clock up the miles. Soon we got the bug and started to check out the local bridleways in and around Bridgnorth including all of the tracks in Dudmaston and Quatford woods, Benthall and Ironbridge.

Soon we were were moving onto the hills of Shropshire, conquering all of the main Shropshire Hills, Both Clee's, Long Mynd, Stiperstones, Wenlock Edge, the Wrekin. Following on from this were the trail centres of Wales, Peak district and Lake District. Days out morphed into the now famous biking weekends once a month. Over the years with more and more experience Biking weekends have provided a mix of Trail Centre and self made routes based on OS Map and researched routes, mainly in Wales.

Over the last 5 years Andy has replaced Alan in the quartet although Alan still makes appearances on winter Saturday morning rides.

What we do

Over the Winter months we generally ride on a Saturday Morning in the locality of Bridgnorth. Usually around 15-20 miles to try and keep up some winter fitness for the summer.

Between March and November one weekend a month is dedicated to Biking and an overnight stop for some well deserved light refreshments and obligatory Curry. Aim is for the route to be around 15 - 20 miles each day with usually between 2,500ft and 3,500ft of climbing. Predominently in Wales but extending into Sherwood Forest and peak District. As well as the continuation of a Saturday ride wherever possible.

In the past the odd weekend has extended abroad with some good MTBing in Tenerefe and Spain.
